A young race driver and his mechanic buddy are on their way to the Grand National Drag Races in California in their hopped-up 57' Chevy, when they pick up a pretty hitchhiker who is star struck and Hollywood bound. What starts out as a fun-time cross-country trip ends as a prelude to violence and possible tragedy.
